June 29, 2011- CrossFit traning at Lake Newnan

2 hours

Summer training is important to keep in shape for the following fall rowing season. CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program used to train police, military, special operations units, champion martial artists, and professional athletes worldwide.CrossFit is designed for everyone and makes it perfect conditioning for any committed individual regardless of experience. I have decided to train with my rowing coach Julianne Parker for the CrossFit program she runs at Lake Newnan.  I have decided to train for CrossFit on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesdays and Thursday, I will do weight training with my friends at GHFC. My CrossFit coach, Julianne, is an outstanding individual and coach. She makes workouts fun and at the same time pushes each one of us enough to make every athlete feel that she cares for them. At times, some of the coaches focus only on the most athletically talented sportsman and do not care for others, but Julianne is able to make each athlete special. She introduces new skills to maintain interest without expecting too much too soon. At the same time, she never employs any shortcuts during training, and strives to bring the best out of all the athletes. She has really taught me the value of training and discipline. Besides her work ethic and discipline, you will be surprised if I say that Julianne is also one of the smartest people I have ever met. She is a law student at Levin School of Law, graduating soon and starting a master's in International Affairs at the University of Miami. She also competed in the American Foreign Service exams, and is scheduled to interview in October. She is also charming and good-looking. She is a complete package. Lesson learned: Self-discipline is important to be successful.
